Birding Cook Forest
When:
Thursday June 15, 2006
Time:
9-11am, 12-2pm
Where:
Clarion River, Fire Tower, and Seneca Point
Start the day off with a morning hike (900-1100am) listening for warblers, thrushes, and goshawks in one of the Northeastern United States most magnificent old growth forests. Then take a break for lunch at one of the area's fine local eating establishments. Return after lunch by 1200pm sharp, to drive to birding hotspots along the Clarion River, Fire Tower, and Seneca Point (1200-200pm). This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to identify forest birds by ear. Bald eagles and osprey have been known to make an appearance. Please bring your binoculars and meet at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom.
